A First Crush by Imouto Fics

Susumu and Kanae get along very well, with both being friendly and both 
always eager to share their fun with anyone else. Not only that, but 
they both share a love of sweets, something that causes them to bond 
more and more over time. In fact, Susumu can't help but think that there 
might be something more growing between them...at least, he knows that 
he is developing feelings for her.

It is the first time that he has ever felt like this, though, so he is 
no expert, and either way, he can't actually be sure about her feelings. 
Still, every second he spends with his classmate, he wants more and more 
to be able to confess to her. After all, he is not going to get anything 
by sitting around. He has to go for it.

He finally gets up the nerve one day after school, as they are walking 
out of the classroom. Once he is sure that they are alone, he says, 
"Hey, Kanae? I wanted to ask you something. Well, uh...I don't really 
know how to say it, but..."

"What is it?" she asks. She tilts her head a bit, causing her to look 
cuter than ever.

"There's, um, a new bakery that just opened, I heard. Do you maybe want 
to go with me sometime?" He is not used to this sort of thing, and he 
can feel his face heating up. Still, he has to push through if he is 
going to make it anywhere. "Maybe for a date?"

Kanae's eyes widen and her face flushes as well. It is obvious that she 
has never been asked out on a date before, and now she is not sure how 
to handle the situation. Finally, she murmurs, "That sounds nice. I'd 
like that."
